The Tour - Oklahoma Freewheel
Oklahoma Freewheel 2020
The 42nd edition of Oklahoma Freewheel will take place May 31 - June 6, 2020. Come join us and experience Oklahoma’s beautiful scenery, historical towns, and amazing people.
Cross-state Bicycle Tour of Oklahoma
Oklahoma Freewheel is week-long bicycle tour in early June across the great State of Oklahoma. The route changes each year, but typically begins near the Red River, Oklahoma’s southern border with Texas, and travels north to end just across the Kansas state line.
The tour ends each day in one of the many amazing Oklahoma towns. We work with each Host Town to find the best camping location, local entertainment, and food for riders each day, as well as information about all the local sites to see. Eat at the local diner or treat yourself to some great Oklahoma home cooking at camp. Each Host Town starts planning in the winter to offer you a unique and memorable time.
Thanks to Bob Moore Subaru, Subaru of America, Inc. and amazing volunteers, we are able to offer SAG support along the route each day to transport cyclists as needed due to mechanical problems or injuries. These fantastic volunteers will always have water, basic first-aid supplies, and a floor-pump handy for those needing assistance along the route.

The Party - OK Freewheel Fandango
OK Freewheel FaNDANGO 2019
OK Freewheel Fandango is a laid back three day fall ride that lets you do whatever you want to do. The weekend is packed full of adventure, food, and just plain fun. We are thrilled to once again stay at the beautiful Roman Nose State Park.
We typically offer two road and two gravel route options on Friday and Saturday, and one road and one gravel option on Sunday. The short route options are kept around 30 miles and the long route options are kept around 60 miles. You will also have access to the mountain bike trail in Roman Nose State Park if you are looking for a little extra challenge.
The 2019 Race the rail challenge
Speaking of a challenge, with your 2019 OK Freewheel Fandango registration you will receive a free entry into Race the Rail on Saturday October 12, 2019. This event will take the place of the road route on Saturday and we will have a little party at the end. The Watonga Cheese Festival is also happening in Watonga so there will be something for everybody going on.
Luckily for us, Roman Nose State Park has a great lodge with a full restaurant. Depending on what days you are registered, we are providing breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning from 7-9am and dinner Saturday night from 5-7pm. New for 2019, we are going to have the First Annual OK Freewheel Fandango Friday Potluck Picnic Dinner. You bring a side and we will supply the main course. Friday dinner will start at 6pm along with the Friday night entertainment.
Friday and Saturday Night entertainment
Don’t forget about the entertainment. New for 2019, we will have entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Bands are being talked to right now and we will let you know who they are as soon as possible. On Friday, the first Annual OK Freewheel Fandango Friday Potluck Picnic Dinner and the entertainment will start at 6pm. The Saturday entertainment will begin at 7pm right after dinner. All entertainment will be held at the OK Freewheel Fandango campsite.
